After more than 60 years in the lumber business, we are recognized as one of the largest lumber companies in the Southeast. Our company was originally founded as Howard Lumber in 1952. In the1960s, Atlanta Hardwood became the sales arm for Howard Lumber. In 1966, we opened a second plant in Huntersville, North Carolina to service the furniture industry in the Carolinas.

Four drying yards and four distribution warehouses give us access to a diverse inventory of more than 50 species of premium hardwood lumber. While we specialize in Appalachian hardwoods, today we process, distribute and export more than 50 million board-feet of hardwood lumber each year, including a variety of exotic and imported hardwoods.
